WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE

Welcome to our website, and please feel free to come to our gospel meeting on Sundays at 630pm. You may however find it interesting to read about our beliefs, listen to our gospel messages and personal testimonies, and  visit some of the other websites referenced above.

On this site you will find information about us, what we believe and when we meet etc. In summary we are a small, independent church or, more accurately, an assembly of Christians. Responsibility for the care and guidance of the assembly lies in the hands of the elders of the assembly. Teaching and preaching is done by those in the assembly, who God has equipped for that task. We also invite visiting speakers to give us help.

“They that gladly received his word were baptised: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. "(Act 2v41-42)

Our aim is to serve God in worship at the meetings at Cumberland Chapel, and also in the local community by reaching out with the gospel, the good news that the Lord Jesus through His death and resurrection can save them from their sins. We believe that we are all sinners before God, and that God sent his Son to die for us, that we may be forgiven and live for Him. We cannot be saved through our own merit.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.  (John 3v17)

By grace are ye saved through faith....not of  works lest any man should boast.   (Ephesians 2v9-10)
